How promotions work in the US Virgin Islands
The US Virgin Islands (St. Thomas, St. John and St. Croix) use the US dollar and US postal system, but they are not part of the 50 states. Many sweepstakes rules therefore leave them out or list them separately, and some national brands include the territories only in promotions run through a local partner.
Check three things before entering: whether the territory appears by name in the eligibility paragraph, whether the prize can be shipped to a Virgin Islands address, and whether any required retail purchase is available at stores on the islands. A promotion that asks for a proof of purchase from a chain that does not operate locally may be impossible to enter in practice, even if the rules technically allow it.
The territory does not observe daylight saving time, so its offset from the US East Coast changes during the year. If a deadline is stated in Eastern Time, convert it for your own clock before the last day.
